Been there once with NCL shore excursion. Beautiful little island with shade trees and hammocks. Locals selling drinks in coconuts and a few stalls selling souvenirs. We've been told the only way to get there is on a shore excursion from the ship. I think they had sea lions to pose with (for a fee) bbq available at a fee too. Not much else to do in Samana so we'd go back.

We did this last year and loved it so we're doing it again this year.

We gathered sea glass and got some nice pieces. It's wasn't plentiful but it was still fun finding it. The water was a little choppy from a storm farther out at sea but the sun was shining. We ate at the Bar-B-Q and thought it was a decent price and very tasty.

We spent so much time in the water that we didn't really have time to visit the vendors other than for lunch but maybe this year.

The only way to get there is to book an excursion with the cruise line. We got the first tender over and stayed until the last one came back.
