Arrival time?

So I just got the call from Carnival about arriving to the Splendor between 2 and 4. Is that the best time to arrive? I know others have said they got the same call before their cruises. I don't need to be the first one on the ship, but I'd like to avoid lines as much as possible. Any info would be appreciated.

I ignore those automated calls ... no matter which time they say, I arrive earlier.

 

They have been doing them for about a year I guess trying to stagger arrival times more.

I usually get to the pier about 11. Unless there is a reason they tell you to arrive late would also ignore it.

 

My vacation starts when I get on the ship and we want it to start as early as possible.

We get there around 11 or 12. It is considered the first day so dont want to waste any of it :)

Thanks, Firefly. I thought 2 seemed late to arrive. I was thinking more like 12.

Ditto on getting to the port 10:30 to 11:00. Having lunch by 12:00 on the Lido most of the time. As soon as I get onboard the cruise has begun as far as I am concerned.

Thanks, everybody. I haven't gotten one of those calls before so I wasn't sure if there was a good reason for it or not. I will go with my plans to get there by at least noon.
