dinkydo Posted June 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2010 Please forgive my ignorance and if this has been asked, I'm sorry in advance. I don't have my passport, will I need to take my birth certificate each time I get off in a port? I know that is a stupid question but I am a total newbie. We cruise on Saturday! Not a stupid question at all. You will need to take your sign and sail card you receive from Carnival when you embark and your drivers license or state form of ID. I have never taken my birth certificate into the ports. Have a wonderful cruise and let us know how the cruise was when you return. ;)
firefly333 Posted June 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2010 I use my driver's license. They will need a photo ID, not a birth certificate.

LHP Posted June 28, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2010 There is no such thing as a dumb question if it is something you are concerned about. Glad the group here could help you!!
omalley16 Posted June 28, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 28, 2010 Just got off today. We needed the sail and sign and a photo ID for everyone over the age of 16. If you are under the age of 16, you need your sail and sign card and your guardian for the cruise.
sc_wildman Posted June 28, 2010 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2010 Don't know if you have kids or not, but even though it's not required for kids under 16, I took each of my kids to the local DMV office and had a state picture ID made for each of them when they turned 12. Always felt safer doing that and it only cost $5.00.
