I have relatives from Greece visiting us & they are looking to join us on a cruise from Los Angeles to South America. Does anyone know what sort of documents (if any) are required The cruise lines mention that I have to check the Greek consulate & I can't seem to find anything.

HELP!

Thanks.

South America is not a single country and the rules will be different for the different countries. Ask your Greek relatives to check with their own government or you can look up the sites for the South American countries of interest. The consulate sites in the US may have that information.

Hi,

we are Germans and booked on the Mariner from LA to Sao Paulo. Checked through Internet with the Consulate or Embassy

of each country we are sailing. For Brazil we don't need a visa.

Also for Chile etc. not required.

Please check also for Greece.

On the internet they are saying which european countries need a visa.

Greetings from Germany

Go to the website of the consulate for each country you are going to visit. Find out what the requirements are for Greek citizens. If not specific, check the entry requirements for EU countries. It does no good going to the Greek website; they have the requirements for going into Greece, not into other countries.

When in doubt, just get the phone number for each of the SA country consulate nearest you or their embassies in DC

Looks like Greece citizens only need a passport for Peru in South America.

Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco, Costa Rica & Chile are all OK!

Thanks for your help.

Happy cruising!

I agree, it doesn't make sense to contact the Greek Embassy or Consulate in the U.S. It's the embassies, in Athens, of the countries they're visiting they need to contact. Surely they can do that. I am in Brazil and believe citizens of EU countries do not need visas for Brazil, but don't know about other countries. Americans do, of course, need visas for entering Brazil, and it's something that needs to be obtained in advance. No airport visas granted, and I assume no port visas, either.
