leedm Posted July 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2010 I have been cruising with carnival for a while, but on the last 2 cruises some things have changed. I no longer get a letter from the Carnival/Ocean Players Club. I am not a big casino player, but seems like carnival has cut out some casino benfits. Has the level of play gone up to receive the benfits????? Leemd
marym933 Posted July 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2010 Did you register on the website telling them you were cruising again? I register about a month before I cruise. The last time, I didn't get a letter either. I found the casino hostess, she made sure I got my free drink and extra points.
SueG Posted July 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2010 I did not even let them know I was coming this past May and I still received the letter. So, who knows what is going on with that.
IslandToIsland Posted July 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2010 They do not do the form anymore. They track everything when you insert your sail and sign card into the machine. On the website it just says the more points you earn the more benefits you will receive. http://www.oceanplayersclub.com
Dave0311 Posted July 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2010 Is there a minimum number of points to earn in order to get enrolled? Or is it as soon as you earn your first point?

MIZZ_K Posted July 1, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 1, 2010 I emailed them and let them know that I would be sailing in September, a few days later I got an email saying that I would recieve a Premium Bon Voyage pkg in my stateroom. I only play the lots and by no means what you would call a big spender, before my last cruise I recieve a card in the mail to take to the cashier where I got $50.00. Has anyone here ever gotten the Premium Bon Voyage pkg? if so what does it consist of.
IslandToIsland Posted July 1, 2010 #11 Share Posted July 1, 2010 And how long will that take?? LOL. It took us almost the whole cruise, but we aren't big time gamblers. I know there's people out there that can rack up a whole lot more than that in one week.:)

DGP1111 Posted July 2, 2010 #17 Share Posted July 2, 2010 That happened to me too:) On the 2nd or 3rd day I had a card for a free drink in the casino. WOOHOO a free drink!! Ditto that. :) I'll usually receive the casino letter (cabin delivery) by the second night to advise bringing it to the casino manager for one complimentary cocktail, and points added to my Players Bank. That has happened multiple times each year with ease, except for Carnival Dream, where I received a big nothing on both sailings . . . but, to be honest, not surprising at all on that ship. L_K Posted July 2, 2010 #18 Share Posted July 2, 2010 I always write to them one month prior to my cruise. I cruise next week and a 100$ cash is waiting for me at the cashier 's cage.

We were wondering the same thing. We cruise a lot and we always receive a letter in the cabin for the cocktail and added points. We did notice that we did not get anything on the Dream when we sailed in May. Sailing again in Sept on the Splendor so I guess we will see. tarheel04 Posted July 2, 2010 #20 Share Posted July 2, 2010 just called the ocean players club this am and a simple 5 minute conversation got me a bon voyage package in my room on my cruise in october. all he asked for was name, dob, and to confirm my last few cruises. might not be much but hey it's free and thats hard to come by this day and time. now we'll have to wait and see if it actually arrives in the room. fingers crossed
IslandToIsland Posted July 2, 2010 #21 Share Posted July 2, 2010 I have called before and was told they don't do the whole let them know when your sailing again through the website anymore or even by phone. The person said they know when your coming onboard and if you played with them before because they get weekly updates in their system. It's just the luck of the draw I guess and who answers when you call.

Ashleezmom Posted July 2, 2010 #24 Share Posted July 2, 2010 We usually always send an email before we sail and have always received a gift of some sort. I sent an email about 2 weeks ago for my upcoming cruise, and got an email back the very next day to expect a Bon Voyage gift in my cabin.
NCTribeFan Posted July 3, 2010 #25 Share Posted July 3, 2010 Again, I've been told, by them, that they no longer want nor need you to contact them. They know. This policy changed many, many months ago. Had my letter for a drink and points on Miracle last December. But nothing on Fantasy a few weeks ago. I'm not a big spender by any means, but I always make the 1000 point level on the slots, usually even without the help of their 500 points. I flagged down the casino hostess on about day 4 and asked her to double check, since that ship had just repositioned and not everything was running quite as smoothly as usual. She never made her way back to me and I just didn't feel like bothering her. I hit 1000 points anyway and I didn't "need" a free drink. Still. Go to their website and read about the various levels. If you think you qualify for something and don't receive it, just ask the casino host.
