Raison Posted July 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2010 Was wondering if the POA has snorkel gear for hire? Don't really want to bring it from home, but am wondering if we need to buy it when we are in Honolulu pre cruise.
Molokai-Chuck Posted July 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2010 The POAm does not rent snorkel gear. If you are doing a tour, the tour company usually provides the gear. There are also many Snorkel Bobs outlets to rent from around the Islands if you plan to go at the snorkeling on your own. Chuck
Raison Posted July 1, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted July 1, 2010 Thanks Chuck. We may look at buying as we will be there for 3 weeks, it might work out to be more economical I think.
Budget Queen Posted July 5, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2010 Frankly, do you really want to consider "used" equiptment?? If you happen to have a car, the Walmarts in Hawaii, are set up like some dive shops. :) They have a wide range of equiptment available at reasonable prices. Especially handy, if you live in an area with limited stock.

And yes, not crazy about using "used" stuff, even if it has been cleaned etc.
fendbass Posted July 6, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2010 I agree with the previous poster about Snorkel Bob's. The mask and snorkel don't take up much room, so we took our own, but rented swim fins at Snorkel Bob's in Oahu, took them all around the islands with us, and dropped them in Kona If you do this, pick up a copy of Snorkel Bob's Guide to Hawaii, probably the funniest guide book I have ever read
