Rubles

Recommended Posts

I apologise if this question has been asked before. If you take rubles into Russia and don't use them all can you take them out with you? Someone did tell me that you are not allowed to take rubles out of the country.

Thanks

As an FYI in the new cruise terminal in St. P., there is an ATM that lets you take out up to 6,000 rubles and next to it was an automatic money exchange machine.

We weren't asked any questions about money thru customs.

We had no problems taking Roubles back out of Russia - please bear in mind many vendors in the St petersburg street markets will happily take other currencies including Euros and US Dollars - just remember to haggle. :)
