Celebrity Direct vs TA

Recommended Posts

We usually book our cruises way in advance directly with the cruise line especially if we're interested in a particular cabin. I now see that an on-line TA is offering OBC, pre-paid gratuties & a certificate for a specialty restaurant for a cruise we have booked. Does anyone know if you can switch your reservation over to a TA, (& be eligible for the amenities), or would you have to cancel the original reservation with the cruise line?

i transfered my booking directly with the cruise line to a travel agency twice - no problem. they were offering free insurance.

the deal you are talking about above sounds like the one i got.

ok, my cruises so far were either booked through travel agencies or I won them in sales contests. I like my agent -- but find she is offering same price as company website, RCCL or Celebrity. I informed her about a savings coupon she did not have. I am between 2 cruises in January -- but I see online companies (not the cruiseline directly) have perks she does not offer me such as prepaid gratuities. Does anyone have experience with this?

Hi Terry,

I booked directly with =X= and now see the sale you may be referring to. I copied this from the Rules of the Sale Offer on that site:

New individual bookings only. Current cruise line pricing at the time of reservation applies. Any bookings canceled between 6/25- 7/2/10 that are rebooked during the sale for the same sailing will be excluded.
