Copenhagen taxi scam

Recommended Posts

While the people of Copenhagen are terrific, you should be careful when disembarking the ship. Two of our party were told either the metro was down or the trains were running very late and that the taxi was the best way to get to the airport. Neither was true and fortunately neither of us felll for it. Just a word of caution...

Cab drivers all over the world will do almost anything to get a fare.

On the other hand we arrived in Copenhagen via the train from the airport at about 1:00am. We asked the first cab in line if he could take us to the Marriott. He just pointed up the street and said its just 3 blocks away -why don't you walk?

Not in the mood to argue and feeling confident that the streets were safe we carried and rolled our bags to the hotel.

The fare wouldn't have been much but I would have given him a decent tip to make up for it.
