We will be in Costa Rica aboard Zuiderdam in November. Have been offered a tour to both of these places for a decent price by OkeyDokey Tours (Charlie Soto). Have any of you done BOTH of these places in the same day? Is it too much to do? It also includes a banana plantation and stop for lunch. Any info/advice is welcome. (Will also post on Costa Rica Board). Thank you.

The banana plantation is on the way to the Tortoguero canal from where the ship docks in Puerto Limon. It would not be too much to do in one day. On a trip to Costa Rica several years ago, we stayed in a lodge in Tortoguero. We then went by boat down the canal to where you get off for Puerto Limon. We then took a bus and passed the banana plantation. It's a great trip!:)

Totuguero Canal is delightful. Both should not be a problem. Canal tour is not an all day one. They are close to each other. Enjoy, watch out for the Howler Monkeys.

Pachira Lodge out there is incredible if you do any sort of private stay there. Tortuguero Canals are literally one of those "once in a lifetime" places that you MUST see.

I would fully endorse that over the other option you mention, although with Costa Rica, it really doesn't matter because everything about that place is so unbelievably gorgeous.
