ivielane2 Posted August 22, 2010 #51 Share Posted August 22, 2010 SFBear: I see you are booked on Sea Princess out of San Francisco to Alaska on Sept. 9th. Also have booked your friend for the Bon Voyage Experience. We too, are going on that cruise and just booked DD and Hubby for the Bon Voyage Experience. All they wanted were their names and e-mail, address and phone number and of course all our booking info. Immediately the daughter got their confirmation and she sent me a copy. What I am wondering is, nothing was said about going into cruise personalizer for a boarding pass, all they told us is that the kids will need a picture ID and to be at the pier at 11:00 with the confirmation. Was this your experience? Also, could you tell us where they will be able to park since we are leaving from Pier 27? Thank you, Verna
ivielane2 Posted August 22, 2010 #52 Share Posted August 22, 2010 I am now finding out that the Pier has been changed from Pier 27 to Pier35, there is parking close by.
sfbear Posted August 23, 2010 #53 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Hi Ivie- - - Just to complicate things, our friend does not have e-mail (gee, no computer, never been on a cruise - - - what is with this person?) So, I did all the "stuff" and the confirmation was sent to my email address. I do have an "eTICKET PREFERRED BOARDING PASS" for her as well. I believe I printed it after completing the cruise personalizer for her . . . she was assisgned her own booking number. Note the "preferred" does not appear on our boarding pass. I am in hopes that presenting her boarding pass and drivers license ID will do the trick. It appears that your experiences with Princess were much less complicated than mine. I still think it might be a good idea to check out personalizer just to see if there is anything which remains outstanding. Sorry I don't have parking info for you (we've always been dropped off by friends since we live so close) but I'm pretty sure there is parking near Pier 35. See you soon - Rich
konyagiqueen Posted August 23, 2010 #54 Share Posted August 23, 2010 Our son who lives in SF (we are from UK) is joining us for the BVE on Island in October. Please do report back how you found the organisation etc at the pier in SF. We believe there is an organised tour of the ship. Can you go to your cabin and drop off bags before this? Any helpful hints? Thank you.
aaerobear Posted August 23, 2010 #55 Share Posted August 23, 2010 The BVE folks are the first to be checked in in San Francisco. Only the BVE's are allowed to check in early. If you are traveling and not part of the BVE group, you will have to wait till the other check-in begins. BVE guests are seated in a separate area in the check-in area and are escorted to the ship by one of the Onboard hostesses. This starts at about 11:15am, other passengers can board about 11:30am. Parking for pier 35 is easy, and it is $12 a day at the garage about a block from the pier.
ivielane2 Posted August 24, 2010 #56 Share Posted August 24, 2010 Thanks so much for all the good info from everyone. I did check my Personalizer and there was nothing, will check again and call Princess again and see what someone else will tell me. I just don't feel comfortable with just my kids ID and confirmation to board. Feel like something missing. Verna

Our cruise is still scheduled at pier 27. Should we park at the same parking garage? How much farther is the walk to pier 27? Thanks in advance. ivielane2 Posted August 25, 2010 #60 Share Posted August 25, 2010 Well, I finally read all that my daughter and son-in-law will need for boarding the Sea Princess for the BVE. Daughter went into Cruise Personalizer and filled out what she needed to fill out for hubby and her, now she has their E-Ticket Boarding Pass, will bring it along with picture ID and confiirmation and also will bring along their Passports. Finally it's all straightened out. Just imagine the one person at Princess told me all they would need is picture ID and confirmation. Not correct! Phew, glad that's taken care of.........
