Thoughts on Rotterdam aft verandahs

My mom will be taking her first Alaskan cruise and was just assigned her stateroom on the Rotterdam. It is an aft verandah, as in the back of the ship. :( I'm not sure she is going to like this. Does anyone out there have any opinions on the aft verandah staterooms? And do these verandahs have solid walls or plexiglass? (She is in stateroom 7061 if this helps at all.)

Thanks for any input you can provide!

We turned down those aft cabins for our july 24th cruise on the Rotterdam . I chose a suite cabin on rt. hand side in center of ship . I want to see the shore and wild life . Also most movement and prop noise and vibration back there . I no longer want ft of ship or rear . CARL

Thanks Carl. They decided to take an upgrade to a Deluxe Suite for $249/person. My mom thinks the binoculars themselves are worth it! LOL

Whew! After a few hours of fretting, all is settled and taken care of. They had originally booked a BC guarantee, so the $249/person upsell was going from a BC to an S. :D After looking at the deluxe suites, I think they are going to be very happy with this! Thanks to everyone who listened to me fret! All is good!
