Carnival Victory

My wife and I are considering booking the Victory out of San Juan for next year. We are both avid readers. I just purchased two kindles. We enjoy crusing and do very few excursions, mostly find a nice beach to lay out and read. We always book a suite because this is what the wife has become accustom to and we enjoy the somewhat larger balcony. My questions are:

What side of the ship (Port or Starboard) would be best on this cruise for the six ports of call?

Will the ship dock facing the islands on the same side at each port?

If not then please suggest which island would be best to face the island.

Thanks in advance........as you can see I am rather new to CC but received many great tips prior to our last cruise on the Pride out of Baltimore, MD in May 2010
