Urgent: Get your passport now!

Reported on National Public Radio on Friday, July 9: Passport prices will increase next Tuesday, July 13, to $135. That means you have one more day (Monday) to apply for a $100 passport unless your local passport agency is open on Saturday. Mom told me it might be a good idea to apply for a passport before the deadline just because someday I will need one and they are good for 10 years. Sorry for the late notice - I did not know, unfortunately, until after I got home from work. If you are planning a cruise outside U.S. territory and do not have a passport yet, apply for it Monday!
