You can visit the hotel, shops, casino and restaurants for no charge....they'll welcome your money!

If you want to use the pool/beach, there is a hefty fee....I think it's in the $100 range pp....

If you just want to go to a beach, there is a public beach.... (Cottage, I think it's called), so no charge there!

Does anyone know if non Atlantis guests can use the facilities there, and what is the cost? I know that cruise ship offers excursions, but we prefer to do them ourselves.

check out the Ports of Call board-Bahamas you will find lots of info there:)

I went to Atlantis last year. The cruise line offered a day pass to all of the activities (primarily water) for about $155 per person. Here on Cruise Critic I found that if you book a room at the Comfort Suites which is right next door, your fee includes a day pass to Atlantis for each person. It was less expensive for 2 of us to pay for 1 night at the Comfort Suites, than it would have been to pay $310 through the cruise line. I think it cost us a little under $200.

If you do book with the Comfort Suites, you'll need to tell them exactly how many people will be on the reservation. Since you're getting the Atlantis pass, it will affect your room rate. If you can get 4 people to book together, the price per person will go down.

Logistics--we took a taxi to the Comfort Suites and checked in first thing in the morning. Then we got our receipt and walked to Atlantis. We showed our receipt and got wrist bands. We then found lockers and dropped off stuff, then played in the water.

In late afternoon we went back to the Comfort Suites and to the room we had booked. We took showers to get all of the sand off of us and clean up before returning to the ship. We took the water taxi back, but had to wait a long time for it. It's faster and about the same price to just get a taxi.

It worked very well for us and I would gladly recommend it to anyone.

We have gotten a room at Comfort Suites. Very easy to do. Check out getting a room at Altantis. Once it was cheaper to get a room there than at Comfort Suites. Have fun. Our family enjoyed the day.
