Wine Policy

Sailing on the Glory on August 28th. How strict is Carnival on the policy of just bringing one bottle of wine per passenger on board? They say it must be in the carry on luggage. What if we put a few additional bottles in our regular luggage? Has anyone ever had a problem doing this?

Any glass bottles in your checked luggage will be noted during x-ray and removed to be returned to you at the end of your voyage. They are quiet strict about this.

Pack the wine in your carry on only.

I understand, what if we were to take more than 2 bottles aboard in our carry on luggage? Would the bottles in excess of 2 also be confiscated?

Yes. probably. The policy as you know is one 750 ml bottle of wine. Unless they are just too busy, its not always confiscated. Someone else brought a 3 liter box of wine and it was confiscated... no one can say for sure it will or wouldnt be. Its your gamble.

We brought two bottles of champagne on our last cruise and they did check to see how many bottles and how many people that were over 21 we had in our party. I have no doubt that security would have confiscated anything exceeding their policy.
