K.T.B. Posted February 8, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2005 Taking the year off from cruising to save up some money in hopes of taking this cruise next year for our 10 year anniversary. (Plus we're doing other vacation spots this year, so something had to give....) Has anyone here cruised Spirit? Especially Glacier Bay. Anything I need to know concerning flying into Vancouver? Where to stay the night before, sights to see while there, etc. Reading the reviews is helpful, but it's far more helpful to get first hand experiences. I'd definitely appreciate any and all help. :) Thanks!

Its very active and people know Alaska and Vancouver inside out and have lots of great money saving tips. Might also want to check these Spirit Alaska threads http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=94638 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=45509 This one lists Excursion Prices http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=42335 I do know many people fly into Seattle and take Amtrak over to Vancouver. Here is a great resource for Vancouver Cruise Ship Information http://www.bcpassport.com/cruise_info.html That should get you off to a good start. Flip2cruise Posted February 9, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Another alternative is flying into Seattle and using quickcoach to Vancouver. SWA runs a lot of $99 one way fares to SEA-TAC. http://www.quickcoach.com/schedule.htm $74 r/t If the pricing is right for May 06, I might cancel the first leg of my Liberty cruise and head to Alaska instead. Which dates are you considering?
lstrong Posted February 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Did the southbound Spirit last year from Whittier, ending in Vancouver. LOVED THE SPIRIT!! LOVED ALASKA!! We picked the southbound so that we could spend 5 days precruise touring some of the inland areas. Alaska is so awesome - I can' wait to go again.
