I love my cat Licky Posted July 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2010 I prefer steak over seafood, but I am open to both. Can anyone suggest a great place to eat? I will have my car, so transportation is not a problem. Thanks everyone! Rita

Rare crewsweeper Posted July 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2010 Try doing a search on Cruise Critic's sister site Tripadvisor.com. You will find tons of suggestions over there. Jonathan Also take this to the Florida departures sub board and do a search...there are a number of threads on places to eat in Ft Lauderdale--upscale, to cheapo, gourmet ot fast food. Look for threads with Blue Heron and RoyalCruiser posts in them as they have a good sense of the area.
royalcruz Posted July 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2010 Here are some great restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. I would suggest reservations at any of these: http://www.3030ocean.com/ (seafood) http://www.chima.cc/locations_detail.cfm?id=9 (Brazilian steakhouse) http://www.steak954.com/ (steakhouse) http://www.johnnyvlasolas.com/ (gourmet) http://www.casa-d-angelo.com/fortlauderdale.htm (Italian) There are also the steak & seafood chains: Ruth Chris, Capital Grill, Charley's Crab, Bonefish Grill and Truluck. We will be staying at the Hyatt Place North with NO transportation. Thanks!! Dough Boys is really close just across SE 17th St. but I think you order at the counter and then sit down. The pizza is very good but I haven't had anything else there. Bravo Italiano is much nicer, still casual but a real sit-down restaurant, about 6 blocks east across SE 17th St in The Quay. RuthlessBunny Posted July 22, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 22, 2010 I know, I'm a broken record on this, but a great restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale is Aruba. Right on the beach, relaxed and casual with a great menu and excellent cocktails. Another fun thing to do is to grab a couple of subs from LaSpada and have a picnic on the beach. If you're hankering for a Pittsburgh fix, then head down A1A south and check out Primanti Brothers, not exactly like the original, but still serving the greatest sandwich ever and a cold Iron City. royalcruz Posted July 23, 2010 #9 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Thanks! I am a vegetarian and generally just get pizza when I go out. Hubby eats everything. Just as an alternative...There is a Moe's in the Harbor Shops near the hotel and they have a great vegetarian beans and rice burrito (the Art Vandolay) with all the chips and salsa you can eat. Taza also has some vegetarian options as it is Meditteranean (think hummus, stuffed grape leaves and veggie kabob).
mommie922 Posted July 23, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Has anyone been to Rivals in Hollywood? Staying at the Westin Diplomat, saw that Rivals is close. Just wondered if the food is good. Thanks in advance! :)
BlueHerons Posted July 23, 2010 #11 Share Posted July 23, 2010 Thanks! I am a vegetarian and generally just get pizza when I go out. Hubby eats everything. Coco Asian in the Harbor Shops has some of the best Asian I've ever eaten and I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I also love Bistro Mezzaluna, Aruba, Charleys Crab, China Grill, Cafe Martorano, and Big City Tavern.
