bzv143 Posted February 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2005 On a waitlist for a Vista Suite on the Island; bringing a 19 year old son; is there any privacy? Can hubby and I close the curtain completely between the sofa and the bedroom area? Thanks for any help... ;)
Rare Coral Posted February 10, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2005 I have been on Vista Suites on other ships (Grand class) and yes, there is a curtain between the bedroom and living area (where the couch/sleeper is). I assume it is the same on the Island Princess.
bzv143 Posted February 10, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted February 10, 2005 Thanks, Coral! Any more input out there? Is there a curtain that closes ALL the way???:p
Rare Coral Posted February 10, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2005 Here are some pics of our Golden Vista Suite. You can see the curtain but it really is not that private. It did close all the way: suite pics Hopefully someone can come fourth with Vista Suite pics on the Coral class.
spongerob Posted February 10, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2005 It closes all the way, but it's not necessarily soundproof. :D
MamaTene Posted February 10, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2005 Not Soundproof!!!!!!!!!!!! Romance with the 19yr old in the room is going to be challenging!

Rare Coral Posted February 10, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2005 It closes all the way, but it's not necessarily soundproof. :D That is what I meant to say but didn't want to say it that way.
Crowsie Posted February 10, 2005 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2005 He's 19...old enough to be out and about on the ship without supervision. I say utilize the "do not disturb" sign placed in your cabin. ;)
DrivesLikeMario Posted February 10, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 10, 2005 The curtain on the Grand's Vista Suites closes all the way, so I would assume that your ship's would as well. It's a thick, heavy curtain, but believe me, it does not provide much privacy at all.
bzv143 Posted February 11, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted February 11, 2005 You all are soooo much fun! ;) And so very "delicate"! I told son last night that the 3 of us may be in a suite together--and would he prefer that we book 2 regular (non-suite) cabins side-by-side instead. Your opinions? IMHO..booking two cabins is going to be expensive as you'll pay a much higher rate for a "single" than if you had two people in a cabin. Now...if he's got a friend that would like go along..that's a whole different thing. Also..there are some wonderful perks that go with having a suite..like free internet access!
