How do you pronounce the name of this city?

 

Because of my knowledge of French, I can't imagine it's "reh-kife", I think of it as "reh-sea-fay" as if it had an accent over the last letter.

 

The longer I pronounce it this way in my head, or the odd time I refer to it in conversation while planning our cruise, the more likely I am to mispronounce it while on ship or, worse, while in Brazil.

reh-sea-fay is the closest.... Actually the "r" is stronger...sounds more like "hey" without the "y" in the end... :o .....
