keystonemama Posted August 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2010 You can check out Schooner's Wharf, great little bar, opens for breakfast at 7:30, or if your a drinker they start serving that too.:D The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum opens at 8:30, (mon-fri) I think they have a shop. We visited the Pirate Soul Musuem, not huge, but very informative, interactive, made you feel like you were inside a pirate ship of something, I would think children would enjoy it. peter_krynicki Posted August 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2010 Here is the Breakfast Club in action... This was actually about 9:00 a.m. I've started having breakfast at the SWB. They have a great selection, one of which is Key West pinks benedict, and a SW special omelette... Before.. And after... Pjk
bhopal21 Posted August 13, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2010 That appears to be a shrimp omelet in the picture. Does the Schooner call that a benedict? Those eggs in the picture are scrambled and fried rather than being whole and poached. Mike:)
peter_krynicki Posted August 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2010 That's this omelette: THREE EGG OMELETS Schooner Omelet Gulf Shrimp, Feta Cheese, Fresh Tomato, Garden Spinach…$10.95 What I call a Key West pink Benedict is Shrimp Benedict A Key West Twist on the Classic...$10.95 It has at least a half dozen pinks butterfly cut and placed under the eggs. They were great. The third one I've had, to satisfy the carnavore in me, is Palomilla Steak Our Island's Cuban Influence - 3 Eggs & Flank Steak....$8.95 I was served this then looked more closely at the plastic knive & fork, but it was so tender that there was no problem. Up-scale they ain't, but the food is always freshly made. Coffee is extra but comes in a bottomless cup. They give you a small card which they punch each timwe you have a breakffast there. #7 is free. Pjk
