Alaska recommendations

We are considering cruising Alaska next year with our then 3 and 6 year olds and wondered if this was a suitable trip for them. We have just returned from a 10 day Baltic cruise on the Star Princess and we all loved it! However this is a very port intensive cruise with little opportunity of getting bored! Disney ships would be an obvious choice but we may travel with grandparents who may not be so keen! Therefore any recommendations on cruise lines/route/activities would be very much appreciated!:)

There are about 30 ships to choose from in Alaska 2011. The more family friendly ones include: Disney, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Carnival. Explore itineraries and fares for these options to make an informed decision.

PS: Alaska is enjoyed by all, young and old alike.

They will love this cruise if the loved the Baltic cruise. Lots to do in the ports and lots of nice scenery.

Disney is good for both children and adults, including grandparents.

Others to consider are Princess, Celebrity and HAL. I am more partial to the first two but check out all three.

I took my 3 children, aged 3, 11, and 13 on an Alaska cruise last year. They had a fabulous time. They enjoyed the whale watch in Juneau and the kayaking in Ketchikan. We went on RCCL. If I had to do it again, my first choice would be the ABD tour or a Princess ship. This year some of the Princess cruises did both Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier. The DCL itinerary isn't very good. No Hubbard Glacier or Glacier Bay.
