Trvlbug12 Posted August 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2010 We realized we were taking a gamble booking a balcony guarantee... Just found out we are in room 10230 which is right across from the infirmary... Has any one been in these rooms? Should we try to upgrade? Any information would be greatly appreciated... moonmother Posted August 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2010 We upgraded from a balcony room to a mini-suite balcony right when we booked. it was a great deal, so why not! we are below and above other decks with cabins so it should be pretty quiet there.:)

bluemarble Posted August 6, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2010 What is a mini-suite balcony? What room were you in? Hi Mike, I think the previous poster is referring to a future cruise. As I understand it, Mini-Suite Balconies are what NCL is going to start calling the Deluxe Balcony categories after the staterooms are reclassified next May. Nothing is "Deluxe" any more in the new stateroom categories. Here is an earlier thread on that topic: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=25483303 All nice and confusing, especially when the new deck plans use "Mini-Suite" in the category descriptions, but labels on the new deck plans next to the staterooms on decks 10, 11, and 12 in the aft bump out section say "Family Deluxe Balcony Staterooms. Extra room for kids".
