DBA Volendam Dry Dock

Is the Volendam do to go into dry dock in Singapore in April?

 

If so what is being done at that time.

 

We are schedule to take it out of Kobe, Japan on May 2 and would like to know what to expect.

Volendam is scheduled for dry-dock between 31 March and 15 April 2011 in Singapore for standard maintenance and upkeep. She was never part of the five ships (Statendam, Maasdam, Ryndam, Veendam + Rotterdam) that received the full or partial SOE, part II ugrades. i.e. Mix, Showroom at Sea, Spa staterooms, Lanai staterooms, Retreat Pool/Slice/LED screen, opening up of casino, shops and Ocean Bar.

Volendam has already received her Digital Workshop (Queens Room), Canaletto and Merabella jewelry shop

Things can always change between now and then though;), think Showroom at Sea, perhaps 'Mix' - all depends on how popular these two concepts are received/will become

Don't think V has the Canaletto. at least she didn't when I was on her in April.

I hope for the «Showroom at Sea» and «the Mix» concept for this upgrade.

Yep, no Canaletto on the Volendam. Checking her out again this September, but no drydock since last cruise on her in March, so would be MAGIC if it has occurred.

A recent review talks of the Canaletto on Volendam. I guess it is quite an easy thing to do even before the refit.

 

Like Gary/Sue we are also on the post refit cruise from Singapore - something we said we would never do. I am however, fairly laid back about this as no big structural changes suggested and also we particularly want this itinerary.

A portion of the Lido was converted to Canaletto each evening when we sailed last month on Volendam. Not heavily advertised.
