jsargent34 Posted June 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2004 As long as they look nice, can I wear cut-off jean shorts and a nice t-shirt to dinner in the dining room? Do others do it as long as it looks good? What about ballcaps, I don't really like to do my hair? To me comfort is so much more important that the norms or the rules, and quite frankly I have to dress up 287 days a year so I don't really want to on a cruise........... HEY THE OTHER THREAD HAD LEGS, SO I FIGURED I'D GIVE THIS ONE A TRY... hee hee hee Until Voyager of the Seas Mariner of the Seas 1/2004 Explorer of the Seas 5/2003 Voyager of the Seas 4/2001 USS Kauffman (FFG-59) 92-94 USS Connole (FF-1056) 90-92 (Hey they're cruises too!!!) hstrybuf Posted June 10, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Why not be really stylish and wear overall cutoffs with a biker shirt. Oh, and remember to wear your baseball cap backward. HappyStamper Posted June 10, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2004 I believe the cut-offs must have holes just under the back pockets and another near the zipper and be worn with no underwear in order to be considered appropriate for the dining room! trish1c Posted June 10, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Only if you bring a roll on cooler, packed w/ smuggled booze & a lit candle perched on top. Although in that outfit you'd probably have more fun if you stayed in your balcony cabin (or better your inside cabin) & grilled on the open flame hibachi you managed to smuggle aboard. Enjoy! trish1c Posted June 10, 2004 #10 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Well, in the spirit of vacation, it will help if you shave the RCI anchor logo into your back for the rest of us to enjoy. Trish

jsargent34 Posted June 10, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted June 10, 2004 I never thought to shave the anchor in my back hair... Hmmm....... I really can't believe another post similar to this was a) posted and WELL responded to and b) SERIOUS Maybe I'm too traditional or old fashioned, but if dressing up (which it's really not anymore) kills you, go to disneyworld or anywhere BUT a cruise... For pete's sake doesn't anyone appreciate tradition, history, customs, sensibility, and self-respect anymore? Maybe it's just me.... FinelyCruising Posted June 10, 2004 #16 Share Posted June 10, 2004 I like that look, particularly if you wear your cut off sleeveless shirt open and your belly sticks out. Better yet if there is a little glow of perspiration too!
jsargent34 Posted June 10, 2004 Author #17 Share Posted June 10, 2004 my apologies, i forgot a smoke! i know the rules say no smoking, but they also say "formal" night. i've never found the "formal" shorts section at any dept. store...again maybe i'm not looking in the right areas! even though the rules are no smoking in the dr, there's got to be a way around that.... i'd be much more "comfortable" if i could smoke before during and after dinner... Rhonda1205 Posted June 10, 2004 #18 Share Posted June 10, 2004 Serious question: Is is really, really cold in the dining room? When we cruised Carnival, it was so cold in the dining room it made your nose numb. I needed a winter coat on formal night. Is this just a cruise thing on all lines?
