todays traffic report at the Brooklyn Cruise terminal

at about 11 am there was hardly any traffic and the flow in the terminal itself was back to normal ie. no waits at this hour....

There were dozens of baggage handlers just standing around when I disembarked at 7:30.

hopefully they had a one time disaster. Its generally been better than the Manhattan cruise terminal. But last week 60 out of a scheduled 84 longshoreman(luggage and freight handlers) were no shows.

Today was fine. No one has fully explained why it happened other than the numbers above.

I doubt we'll ever have any real answer on that either. If it was a wildcat union action, nobody will admit to it because it would be a flagrant violation of contract. Likewise if it was a managerial "mistake", no bureaucrat is going to point the finger at themselves. Best to just hope it was a one time occurence, and things have settled back to normal.:cool:
