Pia, I believe it's: Marr - ah - shall. I think that's how I heard it pronounced a bunch of times on a few cruises.

 

 

That's how I remember it from our cruise with him as ACD. It's a whopper to spell, though!

Sorry but they all use some old jokes at some point, at least in my vast experience.

 

Oh, I agree they all use old jokes at one tile or another but Tim did it one better than all the rest- he managed to reuseevery one of the old time jokes during the entire cruise and not 1 new one. Sad to say the least. I understand it's tough to continually use updated material but ALL the other cruise directors seem to do it. Strange isn't it.

That combined with his personality just doesn't seem to cut it.

Give me Maraschalaand Niel any day.

We have sailed with him before he became CD...he is super talented and very outgoing.

I think it was pronounced mare-A-skall (rhyming with pal) when he was the assistant to Tim Donovan a few years ago.
