Courtyard Ft.Lauderdale Beach

We are booked for an upcoming cruise and are considering the Courtyard Ft.Lauderdale Beach. Any info would help. Wondering about quality of hotel, cleanliness and was the staff helpful when needed? We stayed at a hotel in Ft.Lauderdale five years ago and lets just say that our stay was memorible in ways that are less than pleasing. We are easy to please but dont like to be taken advantage of. Also if anyone knows of good places to eat near the Courtyard Ft.Lauderdale beach (middle of the road prices) and other must do activites this too would be of a great help.

Thanks Tony

We stayed at this hotel last year and are booked with them again pre-cruise this fall. We found the hotel clean, staff was fine. We liked the french doors between the bedroom area of the room and the living room area - made it more like a suite if someone wanted to sleep and someone wanted to watch TV.

Lots of dining options in walkable distance along the beach. Bubba Gump's is right downstairs from the hotel on the beach level.

We had a rental car and avoided the $25 valet park charge by parking at an outdoor lot right next to the hotel for $15/nite.

Hope this helps.

the rooms with french doors ARE junior suites...regular rooms do not have them.

Nice enough hotel, there are a few places within walking distance for eating, there is a 7-11 across the street and you can flag down the sun trolley if you wish...

Coconuts restaurant is right across the street on the marina and it is really good (indoor/outdoor dining) and resort casual. It can get expensive if you order seafood, but they have sandwiches, burgers, and salads for lunch or dinner. It is nice to be there as the sun sets.

Thank you for the info! We were also looking at a dinner at the Mai-Kai. Has anyone been there and if so what are your thoughts?

I went to a luncheon at Mai-Kai. The food was mediocre; the show was good if you like that sort of thing. Kids would probably like it a lot. The Mai-Kai lounge is a good place to go for drinks. On Wednesday nights they have a free sushi buffet at happy hour in the lounge.
