DaveMan53 Posted February 11, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2005 Does anyone know of a good fishing charter company that will take one angler on a charter (OK, two anglers maximum)? I'll be in Alaska in early May visiting Juneau, Skagway, Sitka a and Ketchikan. I understand that early May means no Salmon so I guess Halibut and Ling would be in order. Last year I did the head boat thing for Salmon, which was Ok, but I'm willing to cough up the dough to have more and better shots at bigger fish coupled with the benefit of my learning more on this type of fishing. Help!!!
vhord Posted February 11, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2005 You might contact Ken at Northern Lights in Ketchikan http://www.ketchikanfishing.net/ or phone 1-888-550-8488. A few weeks ago he quoted me a much better price over the phone if I chartered the whole boat and said that we could go and do whatever we wanted. He seemed very agreeable and he is often recommended on these boards. Due to a scheduling change I moved my fishing excursion to ISP.

DaveMan53 Posted February 13, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted February 13, 2005 Thanks for the tips! I'm starting my research now. I'd like some first-hand recommendations if anyone has had the experience on both good charter outfits and the best type of fihing to persue.
