Muster Drill AOTS

Can anyone tell me how a muster drill is held, and what we do :)

Traveling with my girlfriend and she understand only german and some Eastern European languges.

 

So think its good i explain before on the day.

No need to scare her to much :)

It's simply how they inform you of your emergency stations...sometime before sailaway, you will go to your "muster station" (that info is on your seapass/room key), where they will tell you what to do in case of emergency. It's not scary at all. It only takes about 15 mins. There will be employees to help show you where to go.

They have employees who speak MANY different languages....your friend will be able to understand just fine.

Don't head to your muster station (if outside on deck) before they sound the alarm. If you do you'll be up against the ship and standing for awhile. It gets hot and crowded back there with 6 or 7 rows of people in front of you (you will be lined up). Wait until the alarm sounds then head down. You'll probably be in the first row or two and will only be there for a much shorter period of time.

 

If, however, your muster station is in a lounge, then feel free to head over earlier and snag a seat. Otherwise, in that instance, if you wait until the alarm sounds, you might not get a seat and have to stand for the presentation.

 

It's a painless process, but very necessary.
