Le Train Bleu in Paris

It was many years ago, but I still remember the decor - and don't remember the food. I'd do it again.

I've been there once whilst I lived in Paris. It is a beautiful venue but as it is firmly on the tourist trail you may be subject to average food and surly service where you are not encouraged to linger.You are looking at about 90 euros a head which could be better spent elsewhere.Souvenir ashtrays are available for purchase! I would suggest a drink in the bar, from where you can see the glory of the restaurant, without having to go through the whole meal thing there!

If you are veturing out to the 12eme arr. for a meal, go instead to L'Oulette near the Bercy train station. Marvelous food, try the prix fixe for a memorable meal.
