pauline wales Posted August 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2010 First time doing this crossing in October. When sort of temperatures should we expect after Madeira on route to Antigua. Many thanks.
sandbox Posted August 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2010 I have done Transatlantic the last 3 years around oct nov time and the weather has always been great. But hey you never know.:D
Merlin7 Posted August 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Have done the crossing twice in November and once in January. Usually after Madeira the days are warm and get warmer but you can still have the odd exception.
bazzaw Posted August 17, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Hi Merlin7 We are crossing from Southampton to Barbados in January next year. I have always wanted to be able to say that I have crossed the Atlantic by ship ( at this time, I can't even say that I have even seen the Atlantic) -- but a winter crossing was never in my mind!! :p Not too worried about warm temps and sunshine (we get too much of that all the time now!) - but a bit concerned about the seas. portiaqueen Posted August 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Glorious sunbathing temperatures, with an odd shower maybe. We did have a force 8 one year but the stabilisers work really well and the captains are pretty good at sailing round bad weather where possible.
