PhoenixCruiser Posted August 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 20, 2010 Do you really want to give up the balcony? The extra space will come in very handy with 3 people in the cabin. You were ok with the price at one time, right :p Good luck with your decision! ###

Are you talking to a travel agent who has a block of rooms reserved? Only you know how important a balcony is to you. Is your child young, so the s/he will sleep when you would still like to be up and enjoying your cruise? Then a balcony is VERY handy. If you think that you will all be sleeping and waking at the same time, then saving $1400 is mighty nice. Actually, it's mighty nice no matter what. :)
Illinoisgal Posted August 20, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted August 20, 2010 No actually I wasnt ok with the price lol. TA thought for sure it would come down ( booked well over a year ago) We dont spend much time on balcony ( maybe 30 min a day) and oasis does have all the outside locales. Our son is 11 and we were fine on Majesty in the TINY inside lol. I always have to drag him out of bed in the am. I also just found out I can get a boardwalk balcony ( B1) for same price. Im big into not being by lounges etc as I can hear bass really well and like my sleep :) After booking this my husband had to take 5 weeks off as furlough so 1400 would be nice chucnk of change :) ( yes Ta had block of cabins, final pay is next week so gotta decide quick. Thanks!
csk Posted August 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2010 we were on the Oasis in May and had an inside on deck 3, we booked at the last minute and just had a guarantee, and that is what we got, at first I was concerned but it turned out to be very convenient, close to the dining room, and up one deck and the casino, the cabin was very quiet never heard a thing. There is so much to do on the Oasis we were never in the cabin, left early in the morning and didnt return to late,so much to do and so many great shows, I would take the $1400. , but only you can decide, whateve enjoy the Oasis it is an amazing ship and a true destination all by its self. Thanks! You had 3 in a Majesty inside? YOU ARE MY HEROES - I couldn't do it! The oceanviews on Oasis have virtually the same square footage as your balcony cabin. Make the switch; save the money! Thanks! I know all about furloughs, and really like the B1 option. You, your hubby, and son are going on a cruise, celebrate that and take the nice chunk of change :) ###

*Sparkle* Posted August 20, 2010 #12 Share Posted August 20, 2010 To me the ship is the destination so just having a cabin on the ship counts. Save the money to spend on your vacation!

Gigi Fan Posted August 20, 2010 #14 Share Posted August 20, 2010 If you go with the 12 middle aft, you won't be too far from the "secret" balcony at the very end of the stateroom hallway. It's got loungers, regular chairs, chairs with footrests and small tables as well as views of the Aqua Theatre and rock climbing walls. My daughter sat there one evening and enjoyed the Summer Breeze performance on the Aqua Theatre stage and had the place to herself. Just a thought, especially since you're giving up your original balcony... We were in a 12 aft balcony Aug. 7-14 and loved the location. And loved the ship!!!!:)

Sassy5 Posted August 20, 2010 #16 Share Posted August 20, 2010 We were in #9729 (last B 1 on deck 9). We had a wonderful view of the Aqua Theater and the ocean. It is definitely a long walk to the elevators but I would not hesitate to book that cabin again if I had the opportunity.
Gigi Fan Posted August 21, 2010 #17 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Janet, We were in 12318, aft port side. It was a bit of a walk to the stairs (elevators, too, but never took them), but very quiet and arranged with the beds nearest to the balcony, couch and vanity closest to the door. We were pleased with the room. Would definitely go with that location again. In fact, my husband and I will be in the same room on Alllure in March! My daughter and I found this location to be convenient to everything. I hope this helps!
ehfl Posted August 21, 2010 #18 Share Posted August 21, 2010 I wouldn't let noise be a big factor. Deck 3 is not really any more or less noisy than any other deck. And besides, smart travelers always bring earplugs.
