Oasis When It Rains

We were curious to know from those who have sailed on this mega ship (OASIS) as to what happens when it rains? Is the ship really open to the outside in the center and subject to the elements? If so, how do you get around the wet decks. OR does it close up OR is it really closed and just an illusion? Thanks for answers and pictures of your experiences. ;)

You get wet. Actually, it has the same amount of open deck space as any other ship...its just not all on the same level. What would happen if it rained on any other ship? The upper deck would get wet. What would you do then? Find something to do on an inside deck. Oasis has more things to do INSIDE than any other ship. have fun.

Not really. Oasis actually has a lot more open deck space than other ships. For one thing, the ship is just plain bigger than other ships, so by definition the pool deck, which is open on all ships, is much bigger than on other ships. It also has Central Park and the Boardwalk which are not found on other ships and are open.

If it rains and you are in an open area, you get wet. But the Promenade is completely enclosed, and the Solarium is mostly enclosed.

I was a bit surprised in the beginning that they didn't install some type of retractable dome system over the open areas of the vessel...

It would take a very large retractable roof for the Boardwalk and Central Park which would add too much weight to the top of the ship. The rain is not an issue anyway.

We had torrential downpours on our 7/17 cruise, but who cared??!! We were on the Oasis!! Actually, it was very pretty to watch those areas in the rain. In Central Park there are umbrellas at all the doorways of the restaurants and at the door to the ship, so you stay dry!! But be careful, because the ground can get slippery!!
