Babysitting on Rhapsody whilst doing a shore excursion?

Is this possible and/or has anyone done it? I will have 12 month old that I would like to get babysitting for whilst we do a shore tour that is not suitable for the child to come with us.

 

From what I have read, 'In-Cabin' sitting is available but I can't find anywhere if that means just at night-time (ie. when children are asleep) or if you can have someone tend to your child during the day (ie. entertain, feed lunch & put down for a nap etc....)

 

No point in booking this excursion unless I know if baby sitting is possible. Thanks.

I don't think babysitting is avail. during the day....Have you called to ask?

ummm.. i think it's just night time too. But i'm not too terribly sure. Might have to wait to book until you are onboard, then you can find out for sure.

The child must be one year old to qualify for any kind of babysitting, so if your baby isn't 1 year old on the day of departure, you're not qualified for any babysitting on Royal Caribbean. But they do not provide babysitting for any infants during port time. I know you said your child will be 12 months, which is one year old, but will the child actually be 1, or short of being a year old?

Thanks for all your replies. Yes my child will have turned the all important 1 on the cruise.

 

I can't get a firm answer from my local RCI office as I'm not in the US.

 

Looks like we will have to forgo the tour (it's Roll Call arranged one). Will do a ship 1/2 day tour instead so we can tag team staying on board / doing tour.

Babysitting is available 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. However, it is on an as-available basis. You will not be certain that the babysitter will show up until they are at your cabin door.
