No reservations needed...just grab a taxi at the pier and tell them you want to go to Royal Palms. It should be about a $4-6 per person taxi ride each way. There's webcams on their website - http://www.reefgrill.net/ - and an email address that you could try for watersports pricing.
cruisingforsix Posted August 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2010 How is the snorkeling at royal palms? is it just from the beach or do they take you out on a boat.
bookbabe Posted August 23, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 23, 2010 How is the snorkeling at royal palms? is it just from the beach or do they take you out on a boat. Snorkelling anywhere along Seven Mile Beach is only okay at best. The conditions that make for a long sandy beach are the opposite of those that make for good snorkelling. :D Not sure if there's a boat available to take you out to the reef, but you could always ask the watersports operator there what he suggests... Your other option is to do a shore snorkel at somewhere else, like Eden Rock (walking distance from the port area) either before or after your beach time. bookbabe Posted August 24, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2010 thx have you been to royal palms? was it nice?. expensive drinks? i need inexpensive drinks what about public beach? Royal Palms is great, one of our favourite stops when we're in George Town...clean, good food, good facilities, friendly people, nice beach... Drinks anywhere in Cayman are going to be expensive by most people's standards. Figure CI$8-10 for a blender drink, a bit less for a mixed drink, beer around CI$5...and then add the exchange (20%). You might find slightly cheaper prices in some of the places away from the tourist areas, but not much cheaper. It's not a drink-your-face-off island like some ports of call...but then again, you're not going to get mugged (or worse) and you can consume the ice made from tap water without worrying that you're going to get sick. nickels549 Posted August 26, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 26, 2010 Does anyone know how much they charge for chair/umbrella rentals? Sounds like a great place! Oh, and if you want to use their water sports, do they have lockers for you to use? Thanks!
