Staying on the ship for another cruise?

Has anyone ever been on a cruise and got the crazy idea to try to book the next cruise onboard? (In other words, turn a single cruise into a spur of the moment B2B).

I'm leaving tomorrow and looked to see about availability but it's showing the cruise is sold out. :( However, I'm hoping maybe there will be some last minute cancellations while I'm on my first cruise.

What do you think my chances are?

Once we were on a cruise and there was a hurricane coming in for the next week so they got hit with lots of cancelations. They left a paper in each cabin offering the next weeks cruise for $25 per day per person plus free clothes washing. The best part was one week was eastern and the next western so not even the same ports.

Now that was a dream come true. Our first cruise was in 2005 and we stayed on the ship an extra two days because Hurricane Rita closed the port we left from (Galveston). And I thought that was a dream. I can only imagine how excited I would be to get an extra week at those prices. Of course, living in hurricane country I wouldn't wish a hurricane on my worst enemy.

If there happens to be empty cabins for the next cruise ,Make them a REASONABLE offer and they may accept it. Better to sell it for less than face value than to sail w/ it empty.

I asked about staying on .. and they were not willing to dicker. I actually asked and if they would discount I would have stayed on. Not for the price they offered!!

Hubby and I are just going to play it by ear. We figure if the casino is kind and we are liking the ship we will inquire about availablity on the next cruise.

I really wasn't even thinking about getting a deal, I just figured the price would be approximately what the website is showing right now. I'd bulk if the price was a lot more. It's not like I can't live without another three days on the ship. If it happens, it happens.

I'll post when I get back if anyone is curious.
