Pride of America - alcohol in rooms?

Did I read somewhere that you can't get a bottle of Jack Daniels (or something like that) to have in your room. (for Pride of America-Hawaii Cruise)? If so, does this mean you cant drink alcoholic beverages in your room)?

You can order a bottle from NCL before your cruise for delivery to your room. Someone will post the email address, but you can call NCL and they will tell you how.

Yes, you can drink in your room, even bring drinks back from the bar and enjoy them in your cabin. You just can't bring your OWN booze onboard with you.

You cannot get a bar set up (order a bottle of liquor) for your room on POA due to the Hawaii liquor laws. However, this does not stop you from bringing a drink back to your room from one of the bars.

Actually you CAN bring your own WINE onboard, but you have to pay a corkage fee of $15 per bottle - - still way more affordable than paying $40 for something that's $15 in the store!

There are "honor bars" in the fridges on the POAm. All 5 of our rooms had them and they took up the whole refridgerator.... soda, candy, little bottles of alcohol, etc. (I didn't look closely enough to be able to tell you exactly what there was.)

 

We did not order that and in fact had the room steward remove the honor bars so that we could use the fridge four our own stuff.

Hawaii has a lot of laws that makes cruising there much different. The alcohol laws being one and the other is the fact that gambling is not allowed and hence no casinos and no bingo. (in fact, ships with casinos much close those casinios when they reach Hawaiian Waters.)
