Noise from deck12 pool for rooms on Deck 11?

We are debating on getting mini-suites for a cruise on the Jewel vs a mid-ship balcony room. The concern I have is the noise above from the pool area etc. Anyone have any experience to tell me about that?

Personally I would not get the mini suite. My experiance is that you can here noise from above and its not just during the day. I remember being woken by a scrapping sound at around 3am on most nights which turned out to be the crew dragging large hoses around while they wash down the pool deck. We are on Pearl next year and chose balconies instead of mini suites and this was one of the reasons.

We were on the Pearl last year in a mini suite (basically the ship is the same layout as the Jewel) and we were under the buffet. We had no noise overhead whatsoever.

Check to see if you can adjust the location of your mini suite so it's not under the pool deck. We loved our location on the Pearl.
