Well I really hope so..

I know the "dance" club or "cover band" lounge is now non smoking

but what about the disco?

I read this on John Heald's Blog>>

"And since we made the ships dance clubs non smoking the aroma of cigarette smoke has been replaced by the overbearing stench of hair gel."

http://johnhealdsblog.com/2010/08/24/the-magic-frog/#more-15398

He was talking bout the Red Carpet on Splendor

Is this ship wide?? Are the disco/s now NON smoking??

Anyone just off a ship, can you please give a recent (last week/s)

information?? Thanks

I am hoping, hoping this right..thanks

Real RECENT info would be much appreciated

I did think that the disco's were smoking allowed...BUT John Heald's blog states differently (I quoted it)

I think the cover band bars are now NON smoking as I recall

they used to be smoking

Looks like the new Magic will have a Pub with food...so that means it too will be NON smoking

Great choice Carnival !!

John's Blog says that "And since we made the ships dance clubs non smoking the aroma of cigarette smoke has been replaced by the overbearing stench of hair gel."

I would rather smell hair gel LOL

It's been a few months, but as of May, the Pride had smoking allowed upstairs and non-smoking downstairs where the dance floor is. It works well on the Spirit class ships with the two-level disco as there is a spot for everyone.

How did this turn into a thread about the "fun" aspect of smokers?

as for the comment about "waltz" out of the disco...I often wonder here..do people even read before they post??

I clearly posted a quote from John Heald that the dance clubs (disco)

in this case on Splendor are "now non smoking"

I asked for input from recent cruisers and to those who posted information, thanks..

I am specifically looking for info on Destiny, Imagination and Glory

are the discos now non smoking (recent change)....??? John posted this

any recent cruisers

thanks

That is my opinion...and I have an interest in this topic, so I posted it

I have zero interest about the basketball court and kid's clubs so I don't read those threads

I am trying to find out about the disco, specifically on 3 ships I have cruises booked on

any recent cruiser input would be much appreciated

were you on a Carnival cruise in the last few weeks..and did they allow smoking in the disco?? thanks :)

On the Ecstasy there was still smoking in the Disco, Cover Band bar, Piano Bar, and Casino. There were, however, areas of all listed that had no smoking signs on a few tables. I was cruising with a non-smoker and she said the tables designated as non-smoking didn't really matter as they were far outnumbered, lol.

Was it still really smokey or does this arrangement help?

I say this with the disclaimer that I'm a smoker although I HATE smoky places and only smoke outside and never in my house or car. I didn't notice any smoke smell downstairs where the dance floor is. You do have to walk through the upper level to get to the stairs to head downstairs but most of the seating areas are well away from that walkway. It may also depend on whether you have a few smokers up there or dozens as to whether walking through the upper level will bother you or not.

The Splendor has a stricter non-smoking policy then the rest of the fleet. Always had.

It is after all in California.

:D Too funny

Gotta love all those California NON-SMOKERS. Just let them cross that Cal-Neva line headed to Vegas.

Of course Vegas is designed for the alter ego side of all of us.
