Laundromat question for Alaskan's in Anchorage.

We are taking the 7 night Radiance northbound cruise in May 2011 and then a week bouncing around the interior of Alaska. We will have a rental and will be making our first stop at Walmart on A street to pick up a cheap cooler & sandwich stuff. We would like to pack a weeks worth of clothing and stop at a laundromat near Walmart.

Of the following 3 laundromats, Which would you recommend?

1 Coles Coin Op Laundromat on W. Fireweed lane. (under new ownership?)

2 Alaska Cleaners on W. Fireweed lane.

3 Arctic Home Style Laundry on W. 36th.

not an answer to your question, but an alternative.....if you're heading north we found Wasilla to be much quicker and easier; everything was right there off the hwy exit. We shopped at Carr's/Safeway but there's also a Walmart superstore AND a few laundramats.

It makes no difference, in my opinion. Pick one. :)

If you happen to be extended time in Seward, I have done laundry there after day touring with an overnight. Also some B&B's have laundry, and some hotels/motels. This can be a better use of time. I just about always do laundry in Skagway, since it's a long port. I greatly enjoy the company of hikers coming off the Chilkoot, what wonderful stories. It was also the meeting place of my ship natualist friend, when in port the same day. :)
