Santa2ya Posted August 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2010 We are taking the 7 night Radiance northbound cruise in May 2011 and then a week bouncing around the interior of Alaska. We will have a rental and will be making our first stop at Walmart on A street to pick up a cheap cooler & sandwich stuff. We would like to pack a weeks worth of clothing and stop at a laundromat near Walmart. Of the following 3 laundromats, Which would you recommend? 1 Coles Coin Op Laundromat on W. Fireweed lane. (under new ownership?) 2 Alaska Cleaners on W. Fireweed lane. 3 Arctic Home Style Laundry on W. 36th.
mapleleaves Posted August 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2010 not an answer to your question, but an alternative.....if you're heading north we found Wasilla to be much quicker and easier; everything was right there off the hwy exit. We shopped at Carr's/Safeway but there's also a Walmart superstore AND a few laundramats.

Pick one. :) If you happen to be extended time in Seward, I have done laundry there after day touring with an overnight. Also some B&B's have laundry, and some hotels/motels. This can be a better use of time. I just about always do laundry in Skagway, since it's a long port. I greatly enjoy the company of hikers coming off the Chilkoot, what wonderful stories. It was also the meeting place of my ship natualist friend, when in port the same day. :)
mytime53 Posted August 31, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2010 An added bonus for the laundromat in Wasilla is the park on the lake right across the street if the weather is nice.
PennyAgain Posted August 31, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2010 Well, one thing is for sure, there is more and easier parking in Wasilla. Be sure to buy your laundry supplies where ever you do your shopping and not in the laundromat!
