Aplmac Posted September 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2010 How can I visit the Concorde Experince using public transport? Or, do I need to take a taxi? If anybody has been to this attraction would you recommend it? It would be easier and quicker to simply hire a taxi to the airport and do the Concorde Experience. You could always catch the bus back into town.. There's a bus-shelter right close by, across the street from the airport rum shop and bar for locals so you might also catch a few Banks beer or local rum in there, while you wait for the bus and end up missing it :D Heck, there'll be another one along in 15 mins. I'm pretty sure! I've been thru the exhibit and liked it very much. ;) You'll appreciate the air-conditioned hangar if nothing else, to escape the heat and humidity for an hour or so. There are little mini-exhibits around the aircraft as well, so it's not just the big plane itself. You get to walk all around and under the plane, touch the tyres, etc. Take your widest-angle lens. The above photo was taken using my Sigma 10-20 mm. lens on the Nikon..and God knows I needed it! We entered the airframe at the very rear, thru the baggage compartment sat for awhile in the seats while the lady gave us a lilttle talk on board, about what it was like and then you make your way forward almost onto the flight deck but there's a clear perspex screen separating you from the actual flight deck. If you know your stuff, you stick the lens right smack up against the perspex and fire away: it's so close, it acts as a clear filter and I got reasonable shots of the analog controls. GO -you'll like it. .
