twist47 Posted September 5, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2010 Instead of heading off to Rome, has anyone done a tour from this port to sites close by?
yenta Posted September 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2010 We are taking public transportation to Tarquinia, only 20 minutes by bus. It looks very interesting. We have been to Rome a couple of times and decided to forego it this time.

GSPLover Posted September 5, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2010 We are arriving in Civitavecchia the day before our cruise. Once we have checked into our hotel, we a hopping a bus to Tarquinia. Did this on our last cruise and enjoyed it very much, even though it was damp and cold. There is limited shopping in old town. The newer town down the hill does have shopping. jocap Posted September 5, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2010 I haven't done this myself, but some UK cruisers take the train for a few minutes to the seaside town of Santa Marinella, for about 2 euros. It's the first stop from Civi. Jo.
