Beaches in palma de Mallorca

Recommended Posts

We are going to arrive to Palma with the Jade late September.

We would like to head toward a beach were the kids can do activities like the "banana", or paragliding with a boat, or renting a windsurf..etc etc .

Any recommendations of a specific spot ?

If you could also add the best way to get there from the port, better still.

Thanks all for the reply

Since we are beach lovers we appreciate the importance of choosing the right beach. On Mallorca you have lots of choices but it sounds like you might want to go to a beach that has plenty of facilities and activity options and it also should be relatively close to Palma and the ship. We would specifically recommend a beach called Playa de Palma and here is a link to some info about this place:

This beach is on the opposite side of Palma from the port and can be reached by either public transit of a taxi (taxis are never cheap on the island). For public transit you would first take a bus (or shuttle) into Palma and then transfer to the bus that goes out past the airport and parallels the coast. This particular bus (we do not remember the bus line but this info is easy to get on the island) runs parallel to the coast about 3 blocks inland. Since you really cannot see the beach from the bus you should ask the driver or another passenger to suggest the best place to get off the bus (it would be past the airport) or you can follow along with a map. Since Playa de Palma is a very long beach (more then 2 miles long) its hard to miss. On this beach (and across the street) are many cafes, restaurants, shops, etc. The beach itself is clean, has great sand, good for swimming, and (unfortunately) does tend to have lots of people since there are many resort hotels fronting this beach (across the street).
