I know there are some nice shops in the Marriott Renaissance at the Megapier and some across the foot bridge, but I don't remember seeing any "deals" on cruise ship days. There was a purse store and stuff like that at the Rif-Fort area also, but the stores would come and go, so they may not be there any more. The Rif-Fort area is right there by the Marriott also. Mostly tourists shops.

IMHO the best deals on "brand name purses" in Caribbean are the Coach and Dooney outlets in old San Juan.

Yep...othewise be very careful. The purse may have the "name" on it, but more than likely it won't be the "brand."

I'm such a pocketbook snob:rolleyes:... I won't even look at the fakes and I've seen some good ones. But you are so right, there are lots of vendors streetside with "deals" that aren't... buyer beware
