Fifteen hauled off the Destiny this AM in handcuffs...

I am sure they have money..and it is probably all in cash.

I am lucky I have a $20 on me most days..why? Because all of our earnings come in the form of a check...we pay our bills by check...we charge most things and pay at month end..by check..why? because all of our earnings come in the form of a check. The only ones in my house with cash are my kids who babysit....and then it goes straight into the bank.

What I am saying is that simply put...never ever think that someone who acts like a lowlife doesn't have plenty of cash on them...and is generating a rather high income for themselves:rolleyes::eek:

However,,,their expenses may be much different than the average middle class cruiser.

oh... dear... lawd... what does this mean???

You should try electronic deposit and online banking!

EVERYONE knows that proximity to the Pacific Ocean evokes a different mindset... ;)

How is proposition 19 coming along? :D

Tom

My guess - prop 19 will pass. Might as well tax the stuff! :D They have had a similar law in Oregon for over 30 years. Interestingly, they don't have the kind of gang or drug problems other states do. ;)

Two POints- First not doubting OPer but this is all based on a story told by a chatty porter . Maybe true, a partially true exaggeration or a downright fable.

Second point is -so what. You're on a floating community for a week or so with lots of people determined to have fun.

Frankly I'm amazed there aren't more incidents like this (if it happened at all). I have seen lots more altercations

happen in one bar on one night with far less people. I do not condone this type of behavior but really -is this such a big deal?

I believe security's tolerance for this idiocy is probably less then it used to be basing this on the fact that security everywhere

seems to have toughened up. Therefore I don't believe we are all "going to hell in a handbasket" anytime soon .

So no -a small percentage of the people on a very large boat getting into trouble doesn't make me want to blame

poor people, rich people, cash users, cheque writers, bus riders (*****?), drinkers or people observing others make out at the kiddie pool.

Am I missing something or are people overreacting?

Cheryl and I were speculating that the recent increase (reports of such at any rate) also coincides with increased unemployment and economic hard times. Perhaps this has pushed some folks closer to the point of hostility.

Tom

or maybe it's the Tea Party influence!

Don't kid yourselves about no $$ and 'class' of people. Think about it, some Gangbangers are quite wealthy due to their nefarious money making enterprises. I can see where they too would enjoy a nice vacation away from the drug deals and hub bub of the hidden economy. So what happens when you have 2 different groups of Gang bangers (read Gangs) on board. Instant Trouble. I just wonder if perhaps that is what has happened here.

Note to self: Remember to pack wife beater shirt for MDR attire. :)

We gave Juan a book with his picture in it.

Do ya think he could have been involved:confused: After all you did make him cry......and Carnival never told him his picture was in the book......

Just read in the paper today that some woman that worked for Krafts got in an arguement with her co workers and was escorted off......she came back and blew them away.....true story....do ya think someone called her a bus rider:confused:

From what I understand........if you buy cheap airfare........that's where the confusion sets in.......what's the difference between cheap airfare and cheap cabins......you either are or not......can't have it both ways darlin:D

Wow, can't believe the level of sterotyping I am hearing here, some of the most class-less persons I know are very wealthy, while I happen to have a friend who is absolutely penny-less and a classier person you will never meet.

While it is easy to generalize as classy people ourselves DON'T do it!

Who knows why and if anyone got arrested. It could have been about fighting could been smuggling drugs back into states. Some one could have stole something anythings possible, so wait for the news and see if it will be reported.:(

but it has everything to do with Booze and stupidity...I've worked for years in a the special events security field and have had to deal with intoxicated people from every walk of life.. from the lowest of the low to the ones who nose is so far up in the air if it were upside down and raining they'd drown...booze and people who can not handle their liquour don't mix.In Manitoba we have a zero tolerance law and all of the bartenders have to take an alcohol service course to know when to cut someone off. but if someone is smuggling it on.. it creates a whole different source of problems since there is no real way to control how much they consume. If the person is getting agressive and can't sustain a civil conversation or their behavior is becoming unacceptable to others then by all mean confine them to the cabin until they sober up and confiscate all contraban but if they are violent lock them in the brig until the next port of call. this is just my humble opinion...

I certainly agree! It has nothing to do with so called "class". I know some extremely wealthy people who would be considered upper class and are the lowest "class" when it comes to civility. They are rude and arrogant and excessive alcohol just adds to the problem. Alcohol is alcohol and it doesn't discriminate based on "class". Stupid drunks are stupid drunks regardless of their "class" or money. All people regardless of class and money can and do get aggressive and belligerent after drinking enough - ever been to a Frat party??

NOT, a Carnival ship, the Bahamas Celebration.

Hahaha, now that was a funny, yet not so funny review. There were 5 young adults kicked off the RCCL Freedom of the Sea's yesterday in Cozumel for drugs.

Actually it was reported that all 15 people kicked off, all wore tuxes to the MDR. There goes your theory. Care to generalize even more?

I don't think wearing a tux can make a classless person classy...JMO.

Dress a pig in a tux, it's still a pig, right?

But, too much alcohol can make even a classy person obnoxious....I've seen it.
