excursion tours Egypt royal caribbean

I am cruising Navigator of Seas 09/29/10 and can not decide on tours for Cairo or Alexandria. I heard the Nile River cruise was a waste of money. Friends are flying to Cairo &overnight but I do not want to spend $1000. Any suggestions of good tours for Cairo or Egypt. Would like to see pyramids and tombs.

You should also check out the roll call for your sailing. Folks there will have lots of ideas about excursions, although it is a little late in the game...They will likely have firmed up their plans by now.
