Question About Transferring To A TA

Our cousin wants to transfer his booking for our upcoming November cruise to his sister who is an "in-home" travel agent. Final payment has already been made, so this would be just to give her the "credit" for the cruise. (Note: this would be for his booking only.....we did not book as a group so no one else going on this trip would be affected by this)

 

My question is if he does this will he still be able to go onto the RCI website to check-in, do his set sail pass and order luggage tags? Or will this all now have to be done through his sister?

I do not beleive you can transfer a reservation to a TA after final payment has been made.

That's what I was thinking, but having never done it I wasn't sure.

They do not allow a transfer after final payment.

 

If your reservation is with a TA you can still do you your own check in and luggage tags :)

If your cousin's sister is a travel agent, why doesn't he call HER to ask. And again, if she doesn't know, why doesn't SHE call RC to ask?

Travel agent should know that they cannot have a booking transferred to them AFTER final payment...... Getting credit for the booking if done BEFORE final payment...NOPE. Getting commission if transferred BEFORE final payment....YEP !

I am looking at the Travel Agency Transfer Form from RCL.

 

... and the form reads:

 

"once a reservation is paid in full or it is within the final payment period we are unable to transfer reservations to your travel agency. We may not be able to transfer a booking that includes a ChoiceAir reservation.
