Rare Deeliteful Posted September 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2010 I was under the impression that AZ doesn't do formal nights but someone told me that there is one on our cruise (Quest Rome-Barcelona 16th Oct). It seems odd to me - can anyone confirm or deny or tell me where I can get info (I have tried the AZ website but can't find this info)? Thanks Pat
Dick in Falls Church Posted September 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Been on 4 Azamara cruises, most recently in June. There were no formal nights. Some folks tended to dress for dinner more than most of us, but that was personal choice.

Susan-M Posted September 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2010 It seems odd to me - can anyone confirm or deny or tell me where I can get info (I have tried the AZ website but can't find this info)? Thanks Pat Hi Pat, Here's the info from Azamara's website, under the FAQ section: What is the onboard dress code?Subject: Dress Code Appropriate attire onboard Azamara Cruises is always resort casual; there aren't any scheduled formal nights. However, guests should always feel comfortable in wearing formal attire if they so desire. No bare feet, tank tops, ball caps, bathing suits, shorts, or jeans are allowed in the dining room or specialty restaurants. Additionally, due to the recommended attire for Azamara, no tuxedo rentals will be available onboard. Example of Resort Casual Attire: Women: • Sportswear, casual dresses, skirts, pants. • Light fabrics such as linen, cotton, silk and wool gabardine. Men: • Sportswear, golf shirts, pants, sportcoat (if desired, but not required) • Light fabrics such as linen, cotton, silk and wool gabardine. Rare Deeliteful Posted September 17, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted September 17, 2010 Thanks all - that's what I thought. But best to check with those in the know. Looks like I'll have to leave my tank top and cap at home though! Pat
Redtravel Posted September 26, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2010 We are not formal. I like it that way. However, we have seen people get really dressed up. They tend to dress nicer in the specialty restaurants. Some folks just like to do formal for themselves. Anything is acceptable. Have it your way. yale123 Posted October 19, 2010 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2010 Do you need to bring a jacket for dinner, or is a dress shirt and khaki pants enough? will dress pants be better?
takemewithyou Posted October 19, 2010 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2010 Do you need to bring a jacket for dinner, or is a dress shirt and khaki pants enough? will dress pants be better? Well, I am not a man, but my DH had dress shirts and nice microfiber khaki pants and other nights a tropical shirt or collared golf polo and more casual docker type khaki pants. He did not bring a jacket as we had to travel to Europe and luggage weight was a consideration, but a few of the men had jackets - no ties. maryann ns Posted October 19, 2010 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2010 I saw many men wearing jackets in the Specialty restaurants. However, not all did. Last cruise my husband wore dark grey cotton pants (dressy, no iron) and a travel blazer. however, a nice shirt would do.
greeneg Posted October 19, 2010 #11 Share Posted October 19, 2010 Only time that you "need " jacket is if the air conditioning in the dinner room gets over active, I have seen it get cold.

I would second this. I would never have gone to dinner without a wrap and my husband needed a jacket. Sue
